M.Tech is the course to do for getting placement. But unfortunately, as per survey done by AICTE, almost 25% students do not get job. May be you can learn foreign language.

Mechanical engineering is the core branch as I am a chemical engineer, and production engineering is a branch of mechanical and chemical engineering. After completing mechanical engineering, you can go in the automobile and production as well, but with the automobile, your field gets narrowed but if you have talent, you should go with the automobile, and in production, you will go in the manufacturing industry for designing.

Any degree in engineering is validated or recognised. So, what you need to see is your interest in the subjects, mechanical is a core branch and will open lots of specialisation at Master's level later. Any specialised degree at Bachelor's level will restrict your options. So, choose carefully.

The main difference is that while both professionals have a healthy understanding of the technical aspects of music production, producers also have a hefty dose of artistic and creative vision to make a recording the best it can be.
