Design careers are aptitude and interest based and hence it is difficult to say 'which is better'. At would we understand that for many students it is difficult to make a choice at the time of entrance and most of them do so because of peer pressure or a perceived 'good career option'. If you are good at your work then each design specialisation offers a very satisfying and lucrative career. That's why at would we allow you to change your choice of specialisation after your foundation year.

Most entrance exams are based on gauging the aptitude of the student. You do not really coaching to appear for any entrance exam. Peer pressure forces you to go for coaching. We do not recommend it however at would.

A lifestyle accessory designer however deals with all kind of materials ranging from paper to wood, metal, gems, leather, fabric, plastics, rubber and so on. The range of products that they can get into is huge. Accessory design is actually a subset of product design and hence is very different from fashion. As to which is better is difficult to say. Both have huge scope. Choice will actually depend on your temperament and aptitude. Sometimes you are not sure however. That's

Fashion Design is one of the flagship courses at would. As we are a new university, we do not have data on any batch which has passed out. However we have as our Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sanjay Gupta who is the former Dean of NIFT and who has been responsible for placing thousands of NIFT graduates in fashion industry. He was one of the member of the team which founded FDCI. Our Dean of Fashion Design is Prof. Kharb who is a graduate of NIFT and a post graduate of London College of Fashion and has founded and ran multiple companies before coming into academics. Our industry connect is therefore very strong and so will be our placements.

Graduation project is a very important part of your studies at would. This is the time when you bring together all your learning into an actual real life problem solving. You can do it with or without an industry sponsor. In case of a industry sponsor, the industry provides the problem and you work on their shop floor under their mentorship. All graduation projects are evaluated and grade awarded. Graduation Project is not internship, which is done after the end of third year. It is not placement either. However, if your industry sponsor like your work, they may make you an offer.

You have chosen fields that are fast evolving and are likely to grow very fast in the coming decade. Both are available at Bachelor level so you can do a B. Des in either transportation design or Animation & gaming design. Transportation is a wider and better choice then only automobile design. Similarly VFX is a small subset of animation and gaming. So go for courses with wider scope and go for specialised universities only. Would offers both programs which you can check on its website.

It is important to have a degree in the field you want to build your career. If you are planning to do a start up or open your own business then you can do it without degree. If you are seeking a job in the industry, then you need to have a qualification.
