This can happen, if you are not able to understand what your teacher is teaching you. Don't worry, most of us do the same. You need to use online resources to gain knowledge. Visit some YouTube Channels as they'll explain what is the meaning and usage of every single character written inside a programme.

I don't know the exact reason, but the lecturers haven't studied Python in their Under/Post Graduation, so they don't master in such languages which they haven't studied yet. According to me, this could be the reason but you shouldn't worry about that, try searching for online courses, they'll give you much more in-depth knowledge without worrying about the syllabus.
