Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM) and PSG Institute of Management are both average-rated tier-2 institutes, and neither of them is significantly better than the other. Both Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM) and PSG Institute of Management are considered average-rated tier-2 institutes for MBA. According to a review, "none of them [is] up to the mark for an MBA." However, a user expressed a preference for TSM, citing its great infrastructure. According to the data available, both Thiagarajar School of Management and PSG Institute of Management are average-rated tier-2 institutes, and none of them is up to the mark of tier-1 institutes. However, one user  believes that Thiagarajar School of Management is better than PSG Institute of Management due to its great infrastructure. It is difficult to determine which one is better as it depends on individual preferences and priorities.

Since, all the reputed institutions have their own way of selection similarly PSG institute of management also has a specific pathway to select and offer admission to candidates. The applicants need to perform well and score good in the entrance exams that are MAT, CAT, ATMA and TANCET. But TANCET is not the only entrance exam to get into PSG college. If you want to get admission into certain courses like MBA, MTech, you may appear for TANCET. The institute also accepts GATE score for some courses

PSG Institute of Management offers number of MBA programmes. The flagship programme of the institute is the MBA programme offered in affiliation to Anna University. The programme is offered for a duration of 2 years in Full-time mode. Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree with 60% marks in aggregate in any discipline are eligible to apply for the programme. Yes, getting in the PSG Institute of Management might be tough but is definitely worth the efforts. The candidates must meet the eligibility requirement set by the institute. Any candidate, who have passed graduation with an aggregate of 60% marks. Candidates must also have appeared for CAT (Nov 2023)/ MAT (Dec 2023/ Feb 2024/ May 2024)/ ATMA (Feb 2024/ May 2024) TANCET (Feb 2024). Candidates meeting the above requirements are eligible to apply and pursue the programme at the institute.

The admission and selection process for the MBA in PSG Institute of Management is based on: Applicant's performance in the entrance exam MAT (Dec – 2023, Feb – 2024 & May 2024) / CAT (Nov 2023) / ATMA / TANCET). Group discussion, and Personal interview. First of all, applicants need to fill the application form and then have to appear for the exams in which they have to pass the cut off and then only after the rank list they will appear for GD and personal interviews.

PSG Institute of Management accepts application to all the programmes offered in online mode. The candidates must pay an amount of INR 1000 to complete the online application to any programme. The amount paid is non-refundable. Candidates must pay the application fee through debit/credit card or net banking.
