The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) process is responsible for the determination of the application fee in the case of the B.Tech program at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research. TNEA examination fee is Rs. 500 for open category students and Rs 250 for SC, ST, SCA students and PH students are exempted from the fee. This fee is mandatory to apply through the TNEA portal because PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research do not conduct any separate applications for B.Tech admissions.

The admission procedure followed here is the same as the TNEA which entirely depends on merit with the score obtained in plus two (or equivalent) having specialization in Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics. PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research however does not have a different ranking on the NIRF though the University has been ranked within the top 100 engineering institutions offered in India at present. But there are also good institutes in Tamil Nadu for the best quality education, industrial tie-ups, and excellent placement facilities like PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research. The rankings provided by private agencies may differ, however, in terms of choice for the region and engineering students it has remained one of the top preferences.
