PSTET Pattern

Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to qualify PSTET Paper 1. Candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to qualify for PSTET Paper 2. Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to qualify both papers. The candidates have to apply for the papers according to their eligibility set by the board. The total marks of the PSTET (Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test) exam vary depending on the paper. The PSTET exam consists of two papers - Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for candidates who wish to teach classes I to V, while Paper II is for candidates who wish to teach classes VI to VIII. For Paper I, the total marks of the PSTET exam are 150. The exam consists of five sections, each carrying 30 marks. The sections are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. For Paper II, the total marks of the PSTET exam are also 150. The exam consists of four sections - Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science. In both papers, each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
