The National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked IISER Bhopal as 60th in the overall category for the year 2023. The placement report for 2023 is not available. However, NIRF has released the placement report for 2022. According to IISER Bhopal NIRF Report 2023, the median package offered during IISER Bhopal BS and BS-MS placements 2022 stood at INR 17.5 LPA and INR 6.5 LPA, respectively.From the above-mentioned information, candidates can choose between IISER Mohali and IISER Bhopal.

IISER Mohali prioritises the comfort of students and faculty members and ensures the campus has modern facilities and infrastructure. IISER students can avail the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana scholarship a National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Department of Science and Technology has decided to subsume KVPY with Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE). The students in the BS-MS programme at IISER Mohali receive the INSPIRE or KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) fellowship as long as they perform well. While KVPY scholars are admitted "automatically'" to the BS-MS program, the JEE merit-listed students are admitted on the basis of their ranks.
