PGV's College of Engineering and Technology ranks typically in Tier 2. Established in 1985, it is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, which imparts undergraduate and postgraduate education in the stream, it provides B.Tech and MBA. The placements are quite good, especially for quality education in engineering disciplines, but Tier 1 status is quite a distance away. The college, therefore, focuses on experience-based learning and relationships within the real world, which further attracts students looking for effective grounding in engineering as well as management.

That is, even a 200 in JEE Mains will not help it get a seat in the upcoming batches of the PVG College of Engineering and Technology. The college mainly takes scores from MHT CET and JEE, and cutoffs for popular branches like Computer Engineering run around 97.35 in recent years. For JEE, the last-round cutoffs for General category candidates have been much higher and above 400 most of the time. Thus, although you may explore options for less competitive branches or management quota admissions, a score of 200 is likely insufficient for direct entry into most programs.

The college offers many specialization courses. With the most impressive placement record and industry relevance, Computer Engineering remains one of the best courses in PVG's College of Engineering and Technology. Here, almost 100% of placements are achieved with average salaries of about INR 5-6 LPA. The college also offers specialization courses like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science that follow the current trend of technology. Other branches include Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. While they do offer good placement rates, these are still not as high as Computer Engineering.

The Placements of Computer Engineering at PVG's College of Engineering and Technology make for an absolute stand-alone placements record. The average packages are within the range of 5 LPA to 6 LPA with a nearly 100% placement rate. On the other hand, the Electrical Engineering branch had placements averaging to around 8 LPA mainly due to projects such as design for electric cars. Major Recruiters TCS, Infosys, and Accenture form part of the strong industrial ties. Overall, various departments were offering pretty good scopes, but Computer Engineering maintained the highest success of placement.
