You shall look for the industry which works in advance bioinformatics like GSK, abort, dental and surgery agency where in there is a gap of software integration with the infrastructure and thus you would successfully fit in the system having knowledge of both trade.

Python is not sufficient to make a career in AI and ML. It is just the beginning. You need to figure out the objective of being in this field and then start making a career path. To give you a just overview, after Python (R is also preferred), go through the core concepts of Maths. It helps a lot in AI. If you are doing engineering (CS/IT/ECE), you must be knowing about the technicalities behind this, like NLP, Deep Learning, Decision Tree, Stochastic Models, etc. You can start learning ML.

Python is a dynamically typed programming language where there is no necessity of declaring variables whereas Java is a statically typed programming language wherein variables are to be explicitly declared. Python code is much shorter, even though some Java class shell is not listed. This might be one reason why Python can be more productive.
