See, follow your dreams and make a dare move. If you are serious in RJ it is a good field. But think a minute before taking a step in RJ and have a back up plan and see are you really capable to do it, if yes, proceed on to RJ rather than commerce or else go to commerce.

The entrance exam of radio and television journalism is conducted in 2 phases by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. First, you have to appear for a written test which has objective as well as subjective questions. The questions are mainly to judge your aptitude and knowledge about the field. You should read as much as you can about radio and television broadcast as well as the current affairs. This will not only help you to crack your written test but also to clear the next phase, which is a personal interview.

Dear Swalpi,
Main motive is to read newspaper and watch news. Almost all news channels will give you the breaking news, most of the newspapers will give you news of many areas, regions, cities, state etc. It is just that you have to focus to build your knowledge, awareness about current affairs, and command on languages (mainly Hindi and English). I would suggest you to read newspapers of both languages and news channels as well. And, moreover watch different news channels and read different newspapers, so that you will get to know the presentation in different manner of the same news.

If you want a comparison in RJ and anchoring (TV Anchoring) then of course the scope lies more in TV/Screen Anchoring. TV Anchoring/VJ/News Reader work. Besides, RJ work needs very good quality of voice and training.
