Initially, you will be needing a degree. For that, I suggest you to opt for courses like BJMC or MJMC.
After the degree, you will have an idea about your interest, What to do, how to do, what is radio all about, etc. As you have completed your degree, you can join any of the radio station for an internship period, this will give you an experience of working in a radio. Radio have many segments like creative department, music, event, RJ, content writer, etc.

A degree along with RJ course always helps in a long run. The role of an RJ is to inform, update and entertain. Advertising management has a better scope as the advent of radio is not very long. The radio industry is declining day by day in various parts of the world (recently being shut down in Norway). On the other hand, no new ventures are coming up in the radio industry. On the other hand, advertising has the scope as long as there are markets. On the other hand, due to the expanding markets, this sector is poised to grow.

AIR holds auditions every three months and selected RJs are given training for two months and introduced to audio technology. Hi Jassica,
No formal training is required in Radio Jockeying, since it is a talent based field. To develop confidence and flare in this field, one needs to have exposure. You can take up a Degree or Diploma in Mass Communication in order to polish your skills and knowledge. Also, there are plenty of private institutes that offer certificate courses in radio broadcast. Maths doesn't have anything to do with your talent.
