If you don't want to pursue engineering, you can give UPSC and RRB exams for non-technical departments in Indian Railways. If you get a good rank, you might opt for the Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS), or the Indian Railways Accounts Service (IRAS).

In order to be employed with railways, you have to appear for an RRB/RRC exam. Railway Exam Eligibility Criteria includes factors like Educational qualification, age limit and medical standards (for certain posts). Candidates who want to appear for these Exams should know all these essential eligibility criteria:
1. The age limit for the candidates who want to apply for the Railway NTPC Exam should not be less than 18 years and not more than 32 years.
2. Candidate should possess a degree from recognised University / Institute. Typing Proficiency in either Hindi/ English or Computer is also essential.

The Medical Check up is done on various Posts of Railways, either they are Group D posts or A grade Posts in Railways RRB Exam.
