Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Reservation

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology follows the reservation policy as per the Government of India directives. The seat allocation to the SC, ST, OBC, General and EWS categories is in accordance with the Government rules. Given below is the RGIPT M.Tech seat reservation:15% of seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% seats for ST, 27% seats for OBC (non-creamy layer) and, 10% seats for are reserved for EWS candidates in each disciplineA relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CPI (on a 10-point scale) shall be admissible on the marks obtained in the qualifying degree by SC and ST candidates5% reservation (horizontal) shall apply for candidates with physical disability (minimum 40% disability)

RGIPT follows the reservation policy as per the Government of India directive. Also, to encourage technical education among the girls, the institute reserves 17% of the seats for female candidates on a supernumerary basis over the current strength. The institute has a reservation policy for various categories as follows:
15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates
7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates
27% seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)
10% seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates
5% seats are reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates
The reservation policy is applicable to all the programmes and centres of the institute. The candidates belonging to any of the reserved categories must submit a valid Certificate issued by a competent authority at the time of admission.
