The selection to BDes courses is based on Pearl Academy Entrance Exam that, includes GPT- General Proficiency Test and DAT- Design Aptitude Test. The entrance exam is followed by a personal interview round and portfolio presentation. GPT evaluates a candidate's proficiency in the English language, Logical reasoning, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. Additionally, DAT exam evaluates a candidates' aptitude for creativity, drawing, design ability, power of observation and imagination, sensitivity to environment and communication skills. The shortlisted aspirants are called for document verification for final selection.

The cost of the B.com programme at the Government Degree College in Rajouri is around Rs. 3,815. The three-year graduate programme fee for the B.com course is what amounts to the total. This charge covers tuition expenses, gymkhana fees, other fees/extracurricular activities, exam fees and grade card fees, enrollment fees/registration fees, ID-Card & Library Fees, NSS Programme Fees, library fees, and all mandatory lab programme fee, even though this is not a particularly expensive college.
