No, they are not. Mechatronics is multidisciplinary between mechanical, electronics and computer engineering.
Robotics, on the other hand, can be considered as a part of mechatronics as it involves these mechanical, electronics and computer engineering fields. The main difference is inputs are "provided" to mechatronics systems whereas robotics systems "acquire" inputs by their own.

You can not predict the model or maximum marks for which the advanced exam will be set. You are talking about robotic engineering!
There is no such specified branch. You need to take a 5 year integrated course of CS+robotics. Or you need to complete b tech in CS or ECE and then take up a post graduation course (MS or M.Tech) in robotics. Anyways, first start preparing well for the exam. You are interested in a branch which is the most preferred. So you need to be ready to face immense competition.

You can check universities such as UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, MIT and other such world class universities which offer a number of innovative, flexible and customized tracks. Please check their websites for majors and electives. You will get several options. Nowadays we can also see universities offering M.Sc. In User Experience Designs, IOT, Data Science with IOT etc. You must research.
