Mechatronics is a combination of mechanical and electronics used in the field of robotics. It is a different specialization and normally students opt for this course when pursuing M.Tech. Some colleges are offering this as a separate branch also in B.Tech but there are very few in no. You have to check for it. Switching of the mechatronics from separate branch depends on eligibility criteria in M.Tech. Normally, one has to give GATE exam in mechanical to choose this branch.

B.Tech CSE is the most sought after branch by IIT aspirants. Placement record of CSE graduates from IIT is excellent. CSE graduates from IITs can easily get admission abroad for higher studies. Robotics is a developing interdisciplinary course. I will recommend that you can do MS/ M.Tech in robotics after CSE graduation. You can prefer CSE over robotics at graduation level.
