The educational qualification for Undergraduate level posts was Class 12. For Graduate-level posts, educational qualification was Graduation. Provided below is the eligibility criteria for few posts:
Commercial Apprentice: Degree from recognised University or its equivalent. Senior Clerk Cum Typist: Degree from recognised University or its equivalent Typing proficiency in English/Hindi on Computer is essential
Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk: Class 12 or its equivalent with not less than 50 per cent marks in the aggregate. 50 per cent marks are not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability/Ex-servicemen and the candidates who possess qualifications higher than Class 12. Junior Clerk Cum Typist: Class 12 or its equivalent with not less than 50 per cent marks in the aggregate 50 per cent marks are not to be insisted upon in the case of SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability/Ex-servicemen and the candidates who possess qualifications higher than Class 12 Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on Computer is essential. RRB NTPC age limit for candidates applying for the undergraduate level posts should be 18 to 33 years. The age limit for graduate-level posts is 18 to 36 years. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given relaxation in the age limit as per government rule. There are multiple examinations conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board to select candidates for various posts in the Indian Railways. These exams are categorized into four groups, which are:
1. For Group A: The Civil Services Examination is held for the Indian Railway Accounts Services, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), and the Indian Railway Personnel Service. The Engineering Service Examinations (ESE) are conducted for the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers, the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, and the Indian Railway Service of Engineers.
2. For Group B: The RRB Junior Engineer (JE) exam is conducted for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (IT), and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) positions.
3. For Group C (Technical and Non-Technical) requirements, the RRB NTPC RRB Assistant Loco Pilot exam, and RPF Constable exams are conducted.
4. The RRB Group D exam is conducted for Group D level recruitment. The eligibility criteria differ according to the exam.
