I would suggest Instead of focusing on what course would give you higher paid salary job, why don't you concentrate on one of those and work hard such that you excel in it and with your skills and diligence you can improve yourself. Ultimately your hard work will pay off and you would be able to earn good. Moreover both the course would lead to you to similar packages. The average packages of both the course is somewhere similar yet depending upon college to college. So choose what you really want to do and excel in it and also choose the college wisely.
All the best!

Almost, all the institutes have the same procedure that is for the first-year, you need to study all the subjects which would cover all the specialisations too. And later for the summer internships, you need to be sure as to what field you want to go in and apply for the same in the next year.
All the best.

But to answer your question, you can give your CAT again. But, you need to quit the college. If your tenure is done, you can just apply for CAT but you cannot clear it.
I think you should continue doing your PGDM in marketing, and then go for placements. Doing your CAT again is no worth of money. But, if you seriously want to give CAT again study well and then appear for CAT and quit your existing college and go for IIMS. Else, it is just a waste of money and your whole one year.
