Hi Spandan,
Somaiya would be better due to its brand name and location. The average package offered is around Rs 9L, and is one of the top B-schools in/around Mumbai. The new IIMs are not great in terms of placements and ROI; it will take some years for them to be established. Still if brand name matters to you than placements/ROI, then you can go for them(specially Amritsar & Nagpur). Good luck!

Dear Shubham, you might have got the seat at IIM Sambalpur is based upon your rank. IIM-S maintain standards, you will get good placement in future. Settle down if not, try at good private business schools at Mumbai. All the best.

Not worth as it just has An IIM tag, placements are still skeptical and I doubt it will fetch full-time IIM degree in future. Only top reputed college should be preferred.

Eligibility criteria for IIM Sambalpur is graduation degree. Selection to IIMS is by CAT exam. Those who make into merit list of CAT are called for GDPI for selection. It is a very tough exam which require dedicated preparation.

I don't think so. To get an admission in any IIM, you need to appear for CAT. Few NRIs get an admission with GMAT score as well, but for everyone residing in India, you will have to appear for CAT.

Post your graduation, you will have to apply for CAT. Announcement for CAT usually comes in July-Aug and then examination is held in November. If selected for the next round, you will have to appear for PI, GD/WAT. Then results usually are declared in April.
