Sarala Birla University provides lateral entry to the BTech courses that it offers. To be eligible for lateral entry to the BTech programme, candidates must have passed a Diploma in Engineering or a BSc from a UGC-recognised university, with a minimum aggregate of 50%. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, the minimum required aggregate is 45%. Additionally, candidates must have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject in Class 12.

Sarala Birla University has specified the minimum eligibility requirement for candidates seeking BTech admission at the university. To be eligible for BTech (first year) admission at the university, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology/Informatics Practice/Information Technology. They must have scored a minimum aggregate of  50% in Class 12. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate score is provided to candidates belonging to the ST/SC category.

The eligibility criteria for Sarala Birla University BA (Hons) courses is listed below:Candidates must have scored a minimum of 45% in Class 12 from a recognised board in India.A relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks is given to candidates belonging to ST/SC category.To be eligible for admission to BA (Hons) in Economics, candidates must have studied Mathematics/Computers/Statistics/Accountancy/Banking/ Business Studies/Economics as one of the subjects in Class 12.Students awaiting the declaration of their Class 12 results can also apply. However, they have to submit the relevant supportive documents at the time of admission.

The eligibility criteria for MBA course is graduation at Sarala Birla University. Aspirants must pass graduation is any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks ( 45% for reserved category). Bachelor degree in any discipline with atleast 50% aggregate from recognised University/ Institution. Graduates of recognised professional programmes like CA/ ICWA etc. are also eligible to apply. (05% relaxation in marks in case of candidates belonging to ST/SC category).

In order to apply for BSc course at Sarala Birla University candidates must sit and appear for entrance exam score. Aspirants must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as compulsory subjects with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category). The selection criteria fo the course is merit or SBU entrance test.
