The cut-off marks for Saranathan College of Engineering differ according to the branches and category, which normally depends on TNEA ranks for students who come under general quota. For computer Science and electronics streams in particular, their cut off scores are more as compared to less competitive ones. Besides the admission through the TNEA counseling process for merit-based admissions, Saranathan College of Engineering has a very limited option of direct admission through its management quota. Management seats are in turn merit-based, but students who are not likely to get seats through TNEA can get admitted through such an option. Saranathan College of Engineering has many facilities available in the campus to fulfill all needs of the students. It has separate hostels for boys and girls. The boy's hostel is available in the campus while the girls' hostel is on adjacent campus connected through bus service.
