Mechanical engineering in VJTI is a lot better than SPCE, Mumbai in every possible parameter you can think of. Below, I would state the reasons supporting this statement, in terms of advantages that you will get over taking admission in SPCE Mumbai:
1. VJTI has a lot better reputation in comparison to SPCE, Mumbai for excellence in academics all over the state.
2. The college has the best faculty in mechanical branch than any other college in the state.
3. The college attract core number of core companies, in comparison to SPCE, Mumbai.

Both the colleges have a collaboration with Mumbai University and have the same course curriculum for all 4 years of the four course years.
Sardar Patel Institute of Technology is much better than DJ Sanghvi.
This is because of the fact that the college had a much better reputation in terms of placement and faculty.
But, if you don't get into any of the branches like computer science or information technology, then it is not worth it, as the placements in mechanical and other such core branches are below average.
I must tell you though that both the colleges are below average and the faculty members are never able to complete the course

Hi there,
Sardar Patel College of Engineering was established in 1962 as a government-aided engineering college. It was started with three conventional courses. viz., Civil, Electrical and Mechanical with an intake of 40 in each branch which was subsequently increased to 60. The institute is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai.
Placements:
Placements of the electrical branch are quite good here and many of the eligible students are placed in core companies.
Average package:- Rs 4 lakhs
Highest package:- Rs 26.8 lakhs for 4 years
Recruiters:- JP Morgan, Vedanta, Siemens, Bharat petroleum, Reliance, Robert Bosch, Mahindra& Mahin

According to me, Veermata Jijabai Technology Institute is better than Sardar Patel College of Engineering because of much better infrastructure, faculty, facilities, and campus.
Let see the comparison between the two colleges:
1) VJTI:-
It takes about 60 students in electrical engineering and out of them most of the students gets placed.
It accepts admissions from MHCET exam.
Average package is about Rs 6.8 Lacs for the students of electrical engineering in the placement.
The highest package is Rs 27 Lacs.
Recruiters:- Morgan Stanley, Samsung, Cisco, Bank of America, HDCF, Microsoft, Torrent, Reliance, Airtel, Godrej, l&tT, etc.

Yes, droppers are also eligible for GATE exam as this exam is both for job and for higher studies, so you have to score good to get selected.
