Yes, you can. In SASTRA, 70% seats for B.Tech course are filled on the basis of JEE Main score along with prior weightage to the marks in 10+2.
30% seats in B.Tech are filled on the basis of merit drawn on the basis of marks in 10+2 followed by counselling. In the case of admission through JEE Main over 70% seats, 75% weightage will be given to JEE Main score while 25% to the marks in 10+2. In the case of admission, on the basis of 10+2 merit over 30% seats, normalized marks of each board will be considered. Best of luck.

Coming into SASTRA means a definite placement. You get placed in top companies depending on your skills. But if you do not achieve that, then you get an assured job at TCS. Others say that they possess Limca records and stuff (yes, VIT) but their achieving percentage is around 86. At SASTRA, last year we made a record in placements for the highest percentage second to IITs in South, surpassing NITs.

Since I had a love for mechanical engineering.I chose NIT, Rourkela because it is awesome for core branches. But in terms of placements, Sastra might be better but NIT, Rourkela is strong in many other areas like infrastructure and academics.

Sorry. For a student from outside Tamil Nadu to get admitted in Sastra, they require a minimum score of 120 in JEE or above 96% in +2.
