As in the case of the SAT, there are no restrictions set by the College Board, students can take the SAT exam as many times as they want. SAT is administered seven times a year in India. The test is usually conducted in March, May, June, August, October, November and December. However, it is recommended that applicants appear for SAT twice - in Spring and one before Fall. This is because the highest SAT scores among the two will be considered by universities for admission. Since in a lot of cases, SAT scores improve in the second time, it is recommended to take the SAT exam twice.

If a student is below the age of 13, they cannot apply for the examination online but through phone and email. Students below class ninth do not need to submit their photograph during the registration but they are required to have a valid photograph during the examination at the centre . In order to register for SAT exam, international or Indian students are required to just submit their headshot photograph for identification while submitting a SAT exam form. There is no official government issued document required while registering for SAT exam. But these official documents would be required at the SAT test centre for the purpose of identification and double checking of information so that nobody else sits for the exam except for the authenticated candidate. Thus, applicants upon reaching the SAT exam test centre will have to provide their ID as proof for getting an entry at the exam centre.

As such there are no eligibility criteria laid down by The College Board for registering for the SAT exam. However, since SAT is for admission to undergraduate programs candidates are advised to appear for their SAT while in class XII or after passing out from class XII. Also, those who decide to apply abroad for an udergraduate course admission and their university requires them to submit a SAT score are also eligible to register for SAT and appear for the exam too.

Yes, international students can appear for SAT exam even after passing out from high school or one year later too. There are no age restrictions for applicants as to when they should appear for the SAT exam. Whenever students make up their minds for applying abroad and have SAT as an admission requirement, they can appear for the SAT exam.

Applicants are eligible to apply for SAT exam multiple times irrespective of their current standing - in school or a pass out from school or even those in college. Students who wish to appear for SAT another time or multiple times can do so, there is no bar. Students must have a valid reason to appear multiple times for the SAT, because one its costs are high and second, if students fail to elaborate, they may be barred from giving the exam.

No, SAT doesn not usually demand class 12th scores or grades from its prospective applicants to deem them eligible for appearing for the SAT exam. The students may have to fill in their level of understanding of certain subjects and co-curricular activities and they will not be required to submit score related details even while registering. But it is definitely better to appear for SAT after class XII because of the level of knowledge.

Yes, 12 year olds can also sit for SAT exam, they are eligible for the exam, but they will not be able to register for SAT on their own. A guardian or parent will have to apply for SAT exam on behalf of the 12 year old. Thus, parent or guardian will have to take guarantee and register on behalf of their child for the SAT exam. Once the child turns 13, he/she can apply on their own if they still wish to appear for the SAT exam. Its best to prepre for SAT exam and then sit for the exam.
