Hello,
SAT subject tests are not compulsory unless the university is an Ivy League or it specifies a requirement for it. You may browse through various university websites for specific requirements and have an idea.

Dear,
You need to sit for IELTS/TOEFL as well apart from appearing for SAT. The SAT subject test is required or recommended by a select few universities. Therefore, it makes sense to email the university and confirm with them about the entry requirements. However, say for e.g, if you are strong in maths subject, it always makes sense to highlight that by taking the maths subject test. This way a few of your weak points might get ignored by the admissions committee.
I hope this helps.

You can do that, but it is not advisable. You should ideally take the subject test after your course is completed. Whereas, the general test can be taken anytime.

SAT is required for admissions into US universities and the SAT subject tests are mostly required if you are seeking admissions into a top university . For most of them SAT subject tests are optional however taking a subject test will actually help you.

Dear Sakshi, While no where it is mentioned that the AP's would be mandatory but generally as they are challenging course curriculum which give a fair idea to the university that the student has scored high results in AP challenging himself which added/combined with other application materials gives him an edge. However you may see the selection process of Stanford at http://admission.stanford.edu/basics/selection/profile.html for more clarity.
Regards
Nidhi Sharma
