Hi Pranav, both SAT and TOEFL are different tests. If you are planning to study in US both would be required. You can learn about these tests through the following articles

Hope it helped.

There is no minimum cut-offs. A score of above 1350 will be good, but it will not guarantee admissions. You must have an all-rounded profile, outstanding academics, good SAT, strong extra curricular activities and high intelligence to be considered for MIT.

Dear Ankit,
They evaluate every profile holistically, there is not one thing over the other. Saying they don't consider academics but only SAT and TOEFL would be wrong. SAT, TOEFL, etc. are also very much called academics.
Everything from co-curricular and academic grades to intellectual prowess, strengths and weaknesses will be evaluated. There is no single criteria. If you have poor grades but a good SAT however nothing special about your profile they will have little interest in you. An all rounded profile is what they want.

SAT is an entrance test required to get admission abroad. You need to check with the university or colleges of your choice to see if they require general SAT or SAT subject test.
Yes, you need to take SAT in your 12th standard to be able to pursue the undergrad course after finishing your schooling.

Full funding is very difficult to obtain unless you are an outstanding candidate yourself. SAT scores will help you obtain scholarship but not a guarantee. SAT is also not a requirement in these countries. Scholarship is on merit. High school grades, co-curricular, project works etc. will all be counted. Another very important point to note is the university deadline, always try to apply early. Scholarship chances are better if you apply early.

SAT is a standardized test for Universities admission in US which tells Universities about the college readiness and students' critical thinking skills. IELTS is only taken by students in non english speaking countries. It tells colleges that a student is fluent in English and will be able to understand the course instructions etc. in the college.

Go for TOEFL and get a score of at least 110 to be considered in the top universities. Rather than taking SAT you should go for ACT which is equally acceptable as SAT in all Universities. The format of SAT has recently changed and hence there are not many resources to prepare.
