If you fulfill the eligibility criteria of the specific institute, you may complete further admission formalities. You can take the exams after 12th, it is accepted but one thing you should keep in mind are the university intakes and admissions. See that you don't miss any deadlines. Take the exams immediately after boards so by the end of the year you can submit the applications.
