For giving SAT, you have to register yourself on www.collegeboard.com. SAT exam is offered in October, November, December, March, May and June for international students. You will also have to take SAT subject test and it varies from University to university. If you going to apply for early action/early decision admission then you have to take SAT in October and November. If you are going to apply for regular action, then you have to take SAT in October, November, and December.

As per the information available on the internet, the basic fee for the exam is $52, but it varies based on the country of the applicant. For Indian applicants, the fee for SAT comes out to be ~$106 (with written essay), or ~$94 (without essay). In Indian Rupees, the SAT exam fee is around 6200-7000 INR. Apart from the general SAT one can sit for subject Seats which can be useful under certain circumstances. The fee for subject Seats comes out to be ~$111, though the importance of subject tests is gradually diminishing in general.

If you want to apply for the early action, then you have to take SAT in October and November and if you want to apply for regular decision then you have to take SAT in November and December. Feel free to ask about anything.
