Hi Dhruti,
As compared to your academic records, 56% marks is very low. But, don't lose your hopes score more marks in SAT as well as in IELTS or TOEFL Exams. If you are taking IELTS at least you will need 6.5 bands for SAT. You will need minimum 1200+ try to score higher such that you will get good universities.

Hi Aamir,
College admission process is a careful step by step process, you must plan it strategically. A good college prefers applicants with good academics, good SAT score and good profile that is you must contribute to the class, and you must build your profile accordingly. Extracurricular activities are very important. You will be considered for financial aid automatically when you apply. Visit all popular university websites, check their admission pages for deadlines, eligibility etc. And start preparing. It's not difficult, just careful planning is required.

Hi Gajanan,
NIOS won't be a problem for you to pursue higher studies abroad. But there are certain requirements like taking a certain number of subjects for the 11th and 12th. Also you may inquire @ the university regarding the course structure of your preference, fees, etc.
All the best.
