The preliminary test includes objective-type questions in English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The overall score for the test is 100. The SBI PO Mains exam consists of both subjective and descriptive examinations. The objective paper includes questions on Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language. The descriptive paper includes questions from English Language (Letter Writing and Essay). The exam has a total of 250 marks. The candidates are allotted 3.5 hours to finish the paper. Candidates who pass the Mains exam are called for a psychometric test, group activities, and an interview. The psychometric test is qualifying in nature, and no marks are assigned for it. The Group Exercises and Interview carry 50 points.

The last and most important step in the SBI Probationary officer selection process is the SBI PO Interview. This procedure, which comes after the preliminary and main examinations, is given a lot of weightage in the evaluation framework overall because it is worth 50 of the possible points (250). SBI POs can only make up to one Lacs per month after working for the bank for a number of years. The annual gross income ranges from 8 to 13 lakhs. SBI PO Selection process is done on the basis of three stages i.e. Preliminary exam, Mains examination, and Psychometric Test (Group Discussion/Interview).
