In the case of merchant navy, you can get in by joining RL Institute of Nautical Science by taking up GP Rating or B.Tech in Nautical Science courses. For GP Rating, it requires a minimum of a 10th pass with 40% marks in Science, English, and Math. For the more advanced courses, you must qualify for 12th-grade, requiring Physics, Chemistry, and Math.
