Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) has its own specific syllabus that is followed for conducting the SEED entrance exam. The SEED syllabus covers topics like Visual Sensitivity and Judgement, Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning abilities, Problem Solving, Basic knowledge of Logic of Science and Mathematics, Art, Craft and Culture, Design and Environment. The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will release the first merit list tenatively in the 1st week of April 2025. Candidates can check the same by visiting the official website; i.e. sid.edu.in.To download the merit list, the candidate will have to log in to the result portal using their B.Des ID and password.The merit list will include the merit rank of the candidate and the seat allotment status. Candidates who are included in the merit list will have to get registered for the programme and pay the fee on or before the last date.

As per the information given on SID website, the institute does not promote or is aware of any coaching classes/preparatory classes. So, the candidate has the discretion to decide whether the want to join any coaching institute of not. Note that there are many coaching institutes that offer preparatory classes for exams like NIFT, NID DAT, etc.The candidate also has the option of downloading preparation materials online. But note that most practice materials are chargeable.

Ideally, a digital portfolio should be a compilation of the best works showcasing the candidate's skills, passion and interest in a variety of areas and techniques. One must make sure to include the work he/ she is the proudest of. Try to be different and include unique and interesting things. Note that if the admission committee feels that any unfair means was adopted in the making of your portfolio, the candidature of the candidfate may be cancelled. The maximum size of the portfolio should be 5 MB. Click good quality pictures of these and compile them in a Power Point Presentation of maximum 15 slides.

Admission to the M.Des programme will be conducted based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in:Studio Test & Portfolio ReviewPersonal InteractionThe registration process for the M.Des prorgram open soon. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria may apply.It is recommended that interested candidates carefully go through the M.Des Information Brochure.

Candidates who are included in the waiting list will be considered for admission only if there are any vacancies. The seat allotment for waiting list candidates will be conducted if there are any vacant seats left.The allotment of seats in this case will be based on SEED 2025 merit ranks.For any admission related queries, the candidate can contact admission officials at the following numbers:020-26557210 / 203.Note that SID will release the 1st merit list on April 21, 2025.

As per the difficulty level, the SEED exam is much easier compared to top eams like NIFT and NID entrance exam. So, if the candidate prepares for these exams, then he or she is in a great position to do well in the SEED exam. That being said, the candidate needs to follow the SEED 2024 syllabus to ensure they cover all the topics.The candidate may also solve sample papers of NIFT, UCEED, NID, and other top exam to improve their problem-solving ability. Note that SEED and the top exams will have may overlapping topics.

Portfolio submission is the 2nd stage of the SEED 2025 admission process. Candidates who are shortlisted for the PRPI need to upload portfolio and PRPI task starting March 27, 2024.The portfolio and PRPI upload link will be available on the SID website after the candidate has booked the Personal Interaction slots.The slot booking process will be open from January 21 - 29, 2024.Note that apart from uploading the PRPI Task and Portfolio, the candidate will also have to appear in a Personal Interaction round. Yes, Candidates seeking admission to the B.Desprogrammeneed to compulsory appear in the SEED 2025 exam. The scores of the SEED 2025 exam will be next shortlisted for a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction round. Note that the final merit list will be prepared by considering the cumulative performance of the candidate in the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Portfolio Review, PRPI Task, and Personal Interaction (PRPI).So, any candidate who appears in the SEED but doesn’t appear in the PRPI will not be considered for admission. The B.Des is a 4-year course carrying 160 credits.
