1. Position/Job title - It is really important because this job title will decide your job opportunities in the future when you want to shift to other company.
2. CTC - Of course it is important. You have many expenses and a family to take care of. So you need a good package.
3. Earnings per hour - Two companies may be offering the same package but in the 1st company you have to work for 8 hours daily and in 2nd company, you have to work 12 hours daily. So, of course, you should choose 1st one as it gives more earnings per hour.
4. Opportunities to learn and grow

The placement data of most of the colleges is totally wrong. You can trust only the data given by reputed institutions like IITs, NITs or other CFTIs.
Even while viewing these reports, you should be careful.
Most of the local colleges twist and turn the placement data or give insufficient information to judge their placements or maybe some might give false information.
But while comparing reputed institutes you can use it as one of the criteria.
Mainly, see if the institutions are well reputed, check with reliable sources. If possible, talk with students currently studying there cause they know the best a

So let's take a look at the available options.
To be honest, I would say go for top private universities over lower-ranking NITs. But how low the rank can be.
I would suggest NITs as around 5th or 6th rank can be considered safe over the private universities.
But below this rank give preference to private universities.
Consider one more practical options. I would suggest after top 5 NITs, go for top government colleges in your state. This college would generally be better than private universities.
For example, in Maharashtra, you can go for College of Engineering, Pune or VJTI

LEET or Lateral Entry Entrance Exam. This is an exam that is conducted by some states only for Diploma holders to directly join the 2nd year of engineering course.
Here, I want to bring out an interesting fact that most of the states do not allow students of other states to take lateral entry directly into the 2nd year of engineering course. With many private colleges failing to get enough students in
