First of all, let me make it clear to my fellow students that VIT, Pune is indeed Vishwakarma Institute of Technology and not Vellore Institute of Technology. Now coming to the question, both of these colleges are pretty good in terms of the quality of education they provide. Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) was specially founded for imparting education in computer science and IT. It provides only three courses in B.Tech which are computer engineering, electronics and telecommunication and information technology while VIT provides degrees in almost all conventional branches. Talking about academics, PICT has an edge when it

Hi,
Currently, a majority of students studying in top IIMs are from engineering (generally from top colleges.)
This is because of following reasons-
1. These students have a record of academic excellence coming from prestigious institutions from India.
2. Generally, engineering students have high analytical and reasoning skills because of the rigorous curriculum they study.
But as many students from engineering background apply for IIMs there is no such advantage to an individual.
Moreover, as the number of engineering students is more in IIMs, IIMs are giving diversity points to students from a non-engineering background making it a bit ea

CSE placements in CV Raman College of Engineering are quite good. Let me tell the reasons for. First and foremost reason is we are given training in c+ and core java, etc. This process starts from the first year and with that a specialised training in BEC or Business English Communication is given by British Council. Don't worry these all are certification courses so by this we hold an upper hand on IT companies. The package in CS varies from 16 Lacs per annum to 3.5 Lacs per annum in 2017 highest package is offered by sap lab that is 9 Lacs per annum and the placement is still going on. The most prominent recruiters are Infosys, TCS, W

If aerospace is what excites you I would recommend you take up neither. IIST is the right place for you as it paves a way for you to go to ISRO.
Regardless, if you still wish to go to one of the IITs, IIT Madaras is a lot better place for you to take up aerospace engineering, only because of the advanced laboratories and the spectacular reputation of the faculty members at IIT Chennai.
Again, take up aerospace engineering only if you are really interested in the field, as there are not many core companies to recruit undergraduates in aerospace, and if that happens, you'll probably end up in any IT company like TCS, which will be a comp

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology is a college which is directly affiliated to Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (VTU) and because of this, there are several restrictions as far as the syllabus and the attendance cut-offs are concerned. Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering, on the other hand, is an autonomous college. Meaning that, it decides it's own syllabus, has lesser restrictions with respect to attendance and it gives you time to build your profile beyond what your syllabus teaches you. The college culture in DSCE is way better than in Sir MVIT. Having it's own course outline, you are taught subjects keepi

I would go for VIT any day just because the college has a better reputation ranking 6th on the list of the best private, while SRM ranks 11th on the same list.
Life at VIT is a little more hectic and restricting than life at SRM, this is because of the fact that you will have to solve daily assignments and your classes runs from 8:00 to 7:00 if you belong to CSE in the first year, this is the case at VIT.
While at SRM, you have classes till 5:00 in the first year, and there are no such assignments. Also, you get to go out as many times as you want to, unlike VIT.
So in clear sense, you get to have much more freedom at SRM.

If you're asking about the placements for computer science at Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, you've made several right choices already. There are a lot of companies which come for computer science students since Bangalore itself has a lot of IT companies. There is a wide range of salary packages, here, on behalf of the companies that come. They range from 2.4 Lacs per annum (Accenture, IBM) to 21 Lacs per annum (Unitech Transfer). Last year, 85% students were placed. There is no end to the companies which come to the campus for recruitment, and they keep coming from the second week of August till the last week o
