Not necessarily. But having a degree in journalism acts like a cherry on the cake and betters practical knowledge as well as opportunities for the aspirant in question.

Hi Gautam, These two are sufficient, and if you are good, then once you start your career, you automatically will learn and acquire knowledge and expertise in your primary domain and other supporting domains. But first, you need to be good in what you are studying now, as it is the foundation being laid, and a strong foundation always helps build what ever you want.

No criteria, per say. But yes, generally media houses are on a lookout of students who are studying journalism. Students pursuing graduation/post graduation in English/Hindi are also preferred. But if you have nose for news and command over your language, irrespective of the subject you're studying, media houses welcome you aboard as an intern.

Design, encapsulates everything. Design has become platform independent, whether traditional platforms or digital platforms. You should be a good designer first. Parameters for different platforms are different and you need to be well versed with them. Today, I could use/convert/transform my designs for web or magazine or posters or animations. You should go for JIMS. This college has good placements, qualified faculties, good infrastructure and all. Students get more practical exposure as accordingly to market demand. this college engage the students in academic as well as other co-curricular activities for the overall development. one more thing before choosing any campus, you should visit first and try to explore the lab facilities in all campuses where you wish to take the admission.

Nose for news is the most important requirement to go ahead with Journalism and Mass Communication as a career. Good communication skills, writing skills, ideation and confidence follow. And rest, there are innumerable things that you'll learn while studying journalism and even on job.
