Hi,
No, you don't need to. CAT is difficult as compared to MAT. If you have chosen to prepare for CAT please focus on it as it covers the preparation for MAT exam as well. Moreover, where through CAT aspirants are eligible for admissions to 20 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and more than 1000 B-Schools in India, on the other hand, more than 600 Management Institutes offer admissions on basis of MAT scores. You can apply for bank (P.O) or SSC exams. You can also go for UPSC exams.

Distance won't be a good idea in my opinion. Some things require practical knowledge and exposure and you should go through it to achieve the perfection. This will also help you in your future jobs when you will gain more skills. So, rather go for regular.

Better you go for CAT exam, where you can get admissions in IIMS. In India, 20 IIMs are there. The lowest cutt off for the IIM is 85%. But, you need to get above 95 percentile to get admission in top IIM.
