To become an Aircraft Mechanic or an Aviation Technician, one gas to undergo three years AME course after completion of 10+2 with physics & mathematics. These courses are conducted by many institutions in India. In some places, there is entrance exam while at others admission is based on marks obtained in 12th exam. Once eligible, a student can select either of the two streams of mechanical or avionics. Merely passing the course does not make one eligible to work on the aircraft straight away. One needs to obtain a license issued by DGCA. Only license holders are allowed to work on aircraft. With the boom in the aviation sector,

Angelblues Aviation and Tourism Academy started its training programmes way back in 2009. They induct students from 10+2 stage after interview and some tests into their six / twelve months courses in different spheres of aviation viz. cabin crew, ground handling, logistics, customer services, etc. It's based in Kochi, the education hub of Kerala. The rating of this institution is quite high and placements are also good.On the other hand, Narayan Academy of Civil Aviation is part of Narayan group that has established its presence in Bareilly, UP in almost all spheres of education. Aptech Aviation and Hospitality commenced its journey into field of training way back in 1986 by starting training in the current subject of IT. It has evolved since then into a big conglomerate with its own establishments in about four to five locations and franchisee network in almost every big city of India. Being private enterprise, they quickly move into sunrise sectors for training of future employees. In aviation sector too, they have training modules for cabin crew, ground handling, etc. On the other hand, NIMS University is a regular private university formed under the relevant laws of Rajasthan government and if course

Flying Cats Academy is located in many places in India. They proudly say that they are into airhostess training. These days, young girls and boys want to travel around the world. Thus, the job of cabin crew appeals to most of them. However, the eligibility is to pass 10+2. Hence, many feel that their graduation dreams are not fulfilled. This academy is perhaps trying to tap into this pool. Hence, they have accreditation with Annamalai University's distance education stream, where in students can be awarded Degree or Diploma as per the length of the course and of course as per norms of Distance Education Council or DEC of governme

There are plenty of institutions in India that are recognized by DGCA, hence it is inconceivable that there will be some such institutions that are not recognized by DGCA. But, then many a time, facts are much stranger than fiction.
All prospective students must ensure that before taking admission & paying money, they must ensure that their institution is not only recognized, but that this recognition is valid during the year of admission.
Here I would like to advise that do not get swayed by the advertisements put out by these institutions, but check on the webpage of DGCA about the status of recognition. If only prospective stud

IIFly Aviation Training Centre was established about 15 years back in the suburb of Mumbai called Andheri. It offers about ten different courses across a wide range of areas like tourism, cruise shipping, aviation, etc. It apparently has tied up with MIAL, the operator of Mumbai airport for the internship of its students. However, having a presence in too many fields have caused it to have a very low reputation. On the other hand, Trade Wings Institute of Management was established in 1989 & is a well-known name in the industry. It has a presence in more than 40 cities and conducts more than 70 courses. By now, more than 50000 stu

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or AME is a very important course that enables a student to obtain license from DGCA to work on passenger aircraft as maintenance person. Obviously, it goes without saying that placements after completion of the course play an important role in selection of a college or institute for study. After careful scrutiny of the different facilities, trained faculty, etc. I am of the firm opinion that Wing's College of Aviation Technology is the most suitable out if the two to pursue the course of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. This is so since the college boasts of three aircraft along with a helicopter and

Indian Institute of Aeronautics is perhaps the oldest institute to give training for becoming Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or AME. Started almost more than 40 years ago, it has produced many AME's who are now in almost all carriers operating out of India. It has two campuses, one in Delhi and other in Patna. This institute boasts of the trained and experienced faculty.
