The transition from defense to commercial aviation is possible if you clear DGCA exams and get your licenses issued through proper channel. The abbreviations are as under. They are acceptable not only in India but outside India as well, where ICAO standards apply. SPL - STUDENT PILOT LICENSE
PPL - PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE
CPL - COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE
They are all basically the stages through which a student pilot turns to a commercial pilot. All these licenses have different privileges and entitlements. They are mentioned in DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements. SPL is issued by the Flying Club where the candidate is enrolled, it allows the candidate to begin flying. Whereas PPL and CPL are issued by DGCA. They allow the pilot to fly for remuneration!
