You could further develop a speciality (on your own) within the large umbrella of product design. For example, it could be user-research, prototyping, user interface, future materials, design for disability and much more.

There are many job opportunities which are available to interior design professionals. Design professionals have a choice to work in a supervised setup (Design studios and Interior design firms) or work independently. The Government sector is also known to hire interior design professionals.
