The media houses need thousands of youngsters each year to take up jobs that vary from News reporting to graphic designing' from camera to content writing and from simple public relation activities to event management at big levels. A degree is worth. Question is about the utility of a Distance Education mode. There is a difference between the Regular and Distance Modes and that is of the Level of Teaching-Learning. Regular Studies give enough amount of exposure as well as the opportunity for the students to expand the horizons of skills and expertise. The Distance Mode limits the scope of that. If there are valid reasons and the learners is determined to ensure that the learning will not be caged because of the Distance mode, it can be done from a good Distance Learning University/Institution. Videography is meant to be something with the camera and is not advised to be done through distance mode. The above things cannot be imparted through distance mode and that's is why it is not advised to have a course in acting or even anchoring through distance mode. These areas of expertise are not theory-based subjects and can never be made a theory based alone. The students need exposure and real-time experience. Distance learning was not devised as an alternative to classroom learning or practical learning with the teachers. The same applies to the question as well. FCP is something which is a special learning and through the distance mode, I do not think that it is possible to comprehend and learn the best of FCP like tool through Distance. Besides, in India, we do not have that strong and fault-free delivery system of Distance Learning Programmes.
