2. Based on what skills, expertise, experience and appearance does the aspiring video jockey wants to claim the job?
Answer by assuming that the person is having some substantial education like graduation or something which makes him or her a literate person. I shall not recommend the observation that even an illiterate person can become an VJ. So proper education, excellent language skills in the targeted or demanded language, fluency in speaking, sense of humor and courtesy, improvisation in the live speech, no fear of stage or acting along with an impressive and pleasant personality. Proper training and exposure to the camera and presenting oneself to camera and audience in a live mode needed. Some good videos are already available and shared on Youtube and participating in regular RJ and VJ Hunts will also open possible jobs. Now comes the salary part:
No final word can be given on this. It may be thousands or even Lacs per month for someone who works with a reputed brand of a channel. Who starts as a fresher may get to the average package of the industry as given to other media profiles. I repeat, no final word on salary from my side.

Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication is the Foundation Degree in India because our Schools do not have this domain as a Specialisation. Media Studies or some other related subject is just part of the curriculum of Humanities and Arts in Senior Secondary and doesn't have major role. Hence, B.A. Remains a less preferred degree for getting a job quickly. Having said this, I must clarify that B.A. Mass Communication is a good option to make a career in Media. After all, one has to somewhere start learning where the career is to be taken. B.A. Mass Communication done from average institutions in India doesn't lead to a good career possibility UNLESS the student has earned and excelled in real media skills. It is suggested that after doing Mass Comm, B.A. From INDIA with good skills of media and communication, one can see jobs abroad as well as in India. BUT there has to be Specialisation done or a key skill and interest developed to seek job knowing that Mass Comm is very vast domain. Prefer a major through post-graduation or do real skill development during B.A. Otherwise, Jobs are tough to get.

Editing and Proof Reading of Language Content is related to Office Communication and do have jobs with the Government. However, this must be noted and should be known before an answer is supplied to this question, whether one is doing a Degree in the subject or merely a Diploma. Company Secretary and Office Secretary also need the skills taught in the purview of the course mentioned. This must be made clear that Government Jobs do not have this specific requirement but have this as one of the things needed in certain profiles. There are more jobs of SSC Clerk Grade and other Junior Staff or Clerk level jobs that one can access having the minimum eligibility of being a Graduate. I must make it clear that, in my observation as Mass Communication expert, not a language Expert for proof reading, there are jobs more in Private Sector. Media, Web Development where Content is Written, Publishing Industry and Service Sectors have scope.

The Question has two sides to Answer- Is it worth to Do a course of this kind via distance learning and the other side is should it be done from INDIA? Let us discuss the first thing First.
1. Linear Editing is a thing of the past in this digital and technology-led age. Hence, it is the Non-Linear Editing that remains the way Video Production is done for all forms like films, documentary, TV Serial or music videos etc. Even News Reporting Videos are also customised. Seeing the DEMAND of this task amd knowing the essentials and challenges, it is NOT Adviseable or suggested that one should go for a NO Classroom Model of Learning "Editing" of any kind and level. Distance Learning, anywhere in the world it is, has its limitations. There are Virtual Platforms and ways like video conference classes etc. Or MOOCs that offer such learning. BUT, we must understand that the actual Learning of skill through Practical and Hands-on while doing the course. If the place offers somewhat like near-regular classes or the student arranged for himself some training then ONLY the distance learning course can do some good.
2. Based on the conclusion above, if the arrangement is made for proper practical training, then do it from INDIA otherwise NOT. IGNOU has offers some courses like this, other institutions might also offer, but it is not suggested to.

1. Journalists are those people who do Journalism! We know Journalist as a person who either works for a Newspaper/Magazine or for a TV News Channel. The People working on any kind of News Sharing platform are generally known as Media Persons or Journalists. Not Let's come to the PROCESS of becoming a Journalist. Refer to what the Journalists do. If One Starts Getting the News Published or Aired on Electronic Channels, it is becoming a Journalist. There are Local, National and International Media Organisations that "Recognise" and HIRE People with 'Communicative Competence', Public Relation Skills, Language Skills as well as very strong General Awareness. Reporting an event or happening is basic work to be done. The standard process these days is to possess a Degree in Journalism-Mass Communication-Media Studies-Public Relations per se. While doing the course, Media Houses are approached by the students for trainings and placements and hence the jobs come. Media Houses prefer people.with academic credentials these days. A degree in English, Hindi or.the related language is also preferred. One can be a Journalist by experience and Public Relations, Interpersonal Skills as well.
2. To be very True, Salary initially is not lucrative in this career. As a Local Journalist you end up earning for what gets published or telecasted. However, of you are hired after graduation anything 12K plus taking you as part time or 15,000 to 20,000 as full time can be expected. Someone who has done a Master Degree can expect a small increase. BUT, Salary completely Depends on your Skills because this is a Performance Based Job. Video Editing is a money earning work but quite 'small in impact'.

Go for a job if a good prospect is coming your way.
Justification: Media, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, Advt Management, Promotion, Media Production, Digital Marketing, Online Reputation Management etc a. Are such courses that must be put to use as early as possible. My rationale is not against doing higher studies, but you can keep studies along with the JOB.
Remember, that it is good to start your career in this domain as early as possible.
If the option of Higher Studies is based on absence of good job and an attractive option to Study at a Good Place then the Higher Ed option is also good.
Favour the idea of Vocational Education. As the western countries have when youngsters prefer to start their vocation early.
One more submission is that the 'course' as stated in the query has to be of good repute and for a good standing. .merely a certificate course won't do.much. There has to be a degree.
