Admission to all the Shyam Lal College courses is entrance-based. While Shyam Lal College accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, admission to all the PG programmes will be subject to the CUET- PG exam starting admission 2023. The institute along with DU started accepting CUET UG starting 2022 and the CUET PG from 2023 session onward. 1. B.A. (Hons. ):
- Candidates must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognised Board. - Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in qualifying by Shyam Lal College:
1. For admission in B.A. (Hons. ). Courses, the candidate should have passed class XII from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 45% for general category students and 40% for SC/ST/OBC category students.

4. For admission in B.A. (programme) course, the candidate should have passed class XII from a recognised board.
