If you want to do government lecturer job, then you will require to qualify NET/SET exam after completion of your Master's degree. You can get lecturer job in private institution without qualifying this exam, but there you need to compromise with your salary. By having SET, you can only get the teaching job within your state only. You cannot get the job outside of your State.

The exam is SET and not STE. For this exam, you need to have passed class 12th or 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one subject from Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational. Besides this, candidates are required to have appeared and qualified SET 2018, JEE Mains 2018 or MHTCET 2018.
