Honestly, it is a personal decision and it also depends on your financial status.There is no fixed rule that say people with coaching score well as there are many with self-study who have aced the entrance exam.But yes, for competitive exams it is better and safer to take coaching as it gives you an edge and you might score a high percentile. You can absolutely crack the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) in 3 months but it will require focused and consistent effort. Yes, preparation for NMAT and SNAP can be done together as most of the syllabus of both the exams are identical. Candidates are always recommended to appear for both the exams together if you are planning to give any one. Both NMAT and SNAP have four broad sections, that include Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability and Language skills. It is advised that candidates must not rely only on SNAP books but also practice previous years SNAP question papers and mock tests. For English, they must read various fiction and non-fiction books. SNAP authorities provide official mock tests a month before the exam and candidates must practice the SNAP mock tests at least once. You can prepare basic concepts of Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability topics included in the SNAP syllabus by studying from CAT books. The syllabus of both exams is same for these topics so you can refer to CAT books for studying the concepts, fomulae and theorems. After attempting every SNAP mock test, check how many questions you could solve accurately in the given time. Analyse questions of which topics took more than one minute to solve, how much time it took to read Reading Comprehension passages, how tricky were the Logical Reasoning questions and which were the questions you could not attempt at all. The official SNAP mock test will be accessible to only those candidates who will register for the exam. You will need to register for the SNAP exam before a certain deadline (the SNAP authorities will inform regarding the same at the official website) to be eligible for official SNAP mock test.
