Let me share the brief information about UGC NET Exam here. The UGC NET is a national level exam which is held by National Testing Agency twice a year. This exam allows you to be an assistant professor in the universities, for junior research fellowship and to pursue Ph.D or higher studies. The eligibility criteria to apply for the exam is as follows:
The candidates must be below 30 years of age for the NET JRF while there is no age limit criteria for the NET lectureship.
The candidates can apply only for the subject opted in post graduation or its related subject. As you have completed the Master's degree in sociology, you are eligible to apply for UGC NET Sociology exam. UGC NET Exam is held for around 100 subjects and the syllabus is available at the official website. The NTA has decided to conduct the UGC NET Exam in July and December month.
