My sister is in the midst of a Full Stack Software Engineering Postgraduate programme. He shared your confusion about this matter. Before committing to a school of software engineering, however, he wanted to conduct some research. This led him to enroll in NIIT's PGP software engineering course, which is offered online. To my mind, he made the right decision. Core Java, Git, agile methodology, and many other foundational skills are taught in depth as part of the full-time curriculum.

More importantly, a study by McKinsey Global estimates that 65 million new employment would be made possible in India thanks to digital technology by the year 2025. In other words, the Indian market provides enough evidence that a career in software engineering is the way to go.

Most software engineer positions require a Bachelor's degree. Mainly B.Tech is the good option to enhance your career. Majoring in software engineering will provide the most useful background for designing and perfecting software in the corporate world. Computer science is another good choice, although it's more theoretical approach is best suited for future graduate students and R&D work.

You should opt for B.Tech in CSE/software engineering after your diploma. If you don't want to do B.Tech, then you should start from today. Try to learn basic concepts through YouTube and then study in detail.
