Not many colleges offer software engineering. The top IITs offer computer science, but do not offer information technology. Most top NITs offer both Computer Science and Information Technology. So, the best college for software engineering is Top IITs and top NITs. Also, there is BITS Pilani and a couple of other private institutes.

Hello Divyansh,
To be able to become a software engineer, you need to have PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) combination in your 12th standard. After you 12th board examinations are ovee, you need to appear for various entrance examinations.

Hello Shyan,
Software engineering is a branch of engineering. You need to have science background to pursue the same. As you have enrolled in commerce, you cannot opt for computer science engineering. However, if you wish to proceed further with computers and have mathematics and computers as subjects in your class 12th, then certain universities allow such students for BCA.
I hope it helps.

Hello Prakash,
According to me, software developing field is gaining a boom. Most of the industries are turning their manual systems into pneumatic, where software and programs are running the manufacturing process automatically. There would be increased demand of new software and there would be a tough competition as well in the market.
