Both software testing and networking have ample jobs, it entirely depends on your interest and the domain in which you want to specialise. If testing different types of software and finding out the bugs interests you then opt for software testing and if how various networks are setup and how the communication channel works interests you, then opt for networking.

Yes, it's correct that getting a job in core electronics is difficult (but not impossible). IT jobs are easily available in comparison. To get core job you can appear for GATE and score good and get into PSU sector. This is one option you can look.

If you are good in statistics and calculations then SAS has tremendous opportunities in data mining, analytics and data science. If you like finding bugs in a software then you go for software testing.
