To pursue a career in software testing first you need to be graduate with any one of these degree like B.tech (CSE ,IT, EC, EE) , BCA, MCA or B.Sc(CS,IT). Along with this education you can join a good software testing training center that so that you can understand what actually is done in testing, also this will help you to understand work in a company easily and perform well there without taking much more help from your seniors. Both the job roles you have mentioned are potential career options and most sought for in the IT sector. Both the courses offer high salary and high career growth, however, based on the current conditions, the testing sector in the IT field currently is over-saturated. There are a huge number of potential candidates than the actual job vacancies. On the other hand, software development is a bit more difficult as it involves more innovation. Being difficult, many candidates are not able to make it till the end, but if one is able to do, it surely has far more opportunities compared to a Software Tester.
