SOT PDEU BSc admission 2024 is entirely merit-based as admissions are based on marks obtained by candidates in the Class 12 or equivalent examination followed by the Personal Interview. The merit list prepared by the University gives 75% weightage to theory marks of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology and, 25% weightage to Personal Interview.

Candidates are first required to register for the programme of their choice at SOT PDEU. The school shortlists candidates for most of the courses based on entrance exam scores. SOT PDEU accepts JEE Main for BTech and GATE for M.Tech programmes. Non-GATE qualified candidates are selected based on personal interview round. SOT conducts written test for MSc and PhD programmes. For BSc, selection is based on merit in the last qualifying exam and performance in the personal interview round.

SOT PDEU admission to M.Tech course is based on GATE score. Candidates who have not qualified GATE are shortlisted based on their performance in the personal interview round. Phase-I of the admission is for GATE qualified candidates. Non-GATE-qualified candidates can participate in Phase-II of the admission. The university prepares a merit list for GATE qualified and non-GATE qualified candidates based on performance in personal interview round and GATE score. Once selected, candidates need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
